As an educator and a specialist who has been working at the intersection of education and engineering practice for years, I am convinced: the future of the Ukrainian AECO industry is being shaped right now, in university classrooms and through real hands-on cases. Recently, as part of the Revit in Ukraine community and supported by ATC Heyon Ukraine and BIM Partner, we hosted a large-scale webinar dedicated to Autodesk's next-generation ecosystem — Autodesk Forma and Revit.
For me, this event is not just an intensive training session. It is a conscious contribution to Ukraine's digitalization, the professional development of our youth, and the preparation of our students for the international Buildathon 2026 hackathon. The world is rapidly transitioning to environmental and AI-driven analysis, and Autodesk Forma allows us to evaluate microclimate, solar radiation, and wind loads at the concept stage, making projects not only visually compelling but also highly energy-efficient. The seamless integration of Forma with Revit enables us to quickly transform a conceptual idea into a fully functional working BIM model. However, during the live demo, I didn't quite manage to show the full export process — our live session time was running out while the export from Forma to Revit was still processing. That happens during live demos too!
Regarding Buildathon 2026 itself: official registration is open until August 10th. This is a unique opportunity for students to showcase their talents globally, earn official Autodesk certificates, and for the winners — to secure trips and mentorship from top-tier AEC industry leaders. As an academic and educator, it is incredibly important for me to see Ukrainian youth mastering technologies used by leading firms in New York, London, or Singapore.
